Asian American Boobies

May 25th, 2011

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Asian American women.

It is the leading cause of death for Filipino-American women while Japanese-American women have the highest rate of breast cancer among Asian American women overall. Many health experts attribute this to the Western lifestyle of fattier foods and less exercise. The risk of breast cancer increases six-fold once Asian women immigrate to the United States.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the global leader in the breast cancer movement having invested $1.9 billion thanks to events such as 3-Day for the Cure.

Bok Choy Apparel (in partnership with Pika Pika SF in Japantown) proudly sponsors a local team of girls, admirably named the Fight Club, in their efforts to raise money for their 60-mile Walk in September. Follow their journey with us.
